Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) supports rapid recovery from trauma & other mental health problems.

  • What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a structured therapeutic approach that helps people of all ages process and overcome distressing memories and emotions. Unlike traditional talk-therapy, ART uses guided imagery and rapid eye movements to facilitate healing. ART allows clients to confront their experiences in a safe and supportive environment, reprogramming how memories are stored in the brain.

ART helps clients keep the knowledge from their experiences while letting go of the pain. By creating distance from emotional responses, ART allows you to look at your experiences more clearly. It helps strengthen positive memories and enables you to integrate new information, leading to quicker recovery and improved well-being.

Many individuals experience significant relief in just 1 to 3 sessions. By addressing the root causes of emotional challenges, ART empowers individuals to develop healthier coping strategies and regain control over their lives. Whether dealing with trauma, anxiety, or seeking overall well- being, ART offers a transformative path to healing and resilience.

  • Why Accelerated Resolution Therapy?

Fast Relief: Many individuals experience a reduction in distressing symptoms in just one session

Versatile: ART addresses a wide range of issues

Focuses on Imagery: ART does not require the client to share details of their trauma

Enhanced Coping Skills: ART helps individuals develop better ways to cope with stress and emotional challenges, leading to lasting changes

    Enhanced Quality of Life:
Many clients find they can engage more fully in their lives and relationships

Safe and Supportive Environment: Sessions are conducted in a safe space with a trained therapist

Compatibility with Other Therapies: ART can be used alongside other therapeutic approaches, providing a comprehensive strategy for mental health

Non-Drug Approach: Encourages emotional processing without the need for pharmaceutical intervention

  • The Role of Rapid Eye Movements in ART

In ART rapid eye movements play a key role in the healing process. Clients follow the therapist's hand with their eyes, mimicking the movements that occur during REM sleep when our brains process emotions and memories. Trauma can become “stuck” in the brain, hindering this processing.

ART uses these eye movements to engage both sides of the brain, enabling clients to revisit difficult memories. The technique promotes relaxation and can help facilitate the exploration of past experiences, leading to faster recovery and improved emotional health.
